Forward Contact Protection
When balance is lost, the body often makes sudden contact with the ground before a protective reaction can occur.
Forward momentum is one of the most common directions of balance loss.
Participants learn protective strategies that help:
• protect the head and shoulders
• reduce stress on the wrists and arms
• distribute force during ground contact
• maintain awareness during descent
These techniques are adapted from judo’s ukemi training and are part of the Ukemi Health Protection Pathway™, a structured system designed to reduce injury risk and improve resilience during unexpected balance disruptions.
